What people had to say about last year's Mining
Indaba
A lot of the key players converge
on Cape Town for this Mining Indaba - whats really happening behind the
scenes is quite impressive. I went for an interview at the De Beers set of
boardrooms in one of the Cape Town hotels today, and they had a notice board up
with a schedule of the people who were coming in to see De Beers executives -
thats just one company. If you take that across the whole spectrum of big
and small companies meeting in Cape Town - theres a lot of business going
on.
John Fraser, Business
Day
The event has become a must-attend
convention for those doing business in Africa, and probably for the corporate
mining sector - major, mid-tier and junior
Mining Indaba is definitely one
of the world's top mining events, and, undoubtedly, most of this year's
participants will be back again next unless there is a seemingly unlikely
drastic collapse in commodity prices in the interim.
Lawrence Williams,
MineWeb
The Mining Indaba in Cape Town has
achieved success surpassing industry expectations, a new report notes. Despite
high-profile speakers, it is claimed that networking may be the real draw of
the event.
TrustInGold.com
The number of attendees at the
conference, held near the iconic Victoria & Alberts waterfront, was a
record, with most companies Mining Weekly Online spoke to labeling the
event a success. On the first day, Monday, the afternoon session on commodity
outlooks was packed to the brim.
Matthew Hill, Mining
Weekly
